** PLEASE NOTE: The packaged weight will be a lot less than the hanging weight of any animal. An animal will lose about ½ of its weight when hide, head, inners and legs are removed. Depending on the condition of the meat, there is approximately 35 to 45% weight loss for regular processing and 50 to 65% weight loss for deboned meat processing. Taken from the hanging weight, that means an elk weighing 700 lbs. could end up with 140 lbs. of meat. We trim all pieces of meat on all sides, so remember the more pieces you bring to us there will be more trimming and the less meat you will yield.
